Enteaux is within easy reach of Carcassonne (25 minutes),
Toulouse (60 minutes). Both have international airports, with British
Airways flying from Gatwick, Air
France flying from Heathrow, to Toulouse and Ryanair flying from Stanstead to Carcassonne.
The ancient hilltop village of Fanjeaux, is less than 10 minutes and provides adequate needs of modern life, with general store, Bar, cafe, restaurants, butchers, bakers, chemists, doctors and post office. Slightly further afield, Bram and the picturesque town of Mirepoix lie within 10 minutes driving.

| No visit to the area would be complete without a tour around the impressive medieval city of Carcassonne, all 52 towers of it and the location of the epic film 'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves'. Also the famous Canal du Midi, which links the Atlantic to the Mediterranean is worthy of a days relaxing canal-side walk. The area is steeped on history. It was the centre of the
Cathare religion and many castles, towns and villages can trace their
origins back over 800 years. It is also one of the major wine producing
area of France and has numerous well-known varieties with Corbiere, Fitou
and Malepere to name just a few.
Fancy a day out at the seaside? If so the ware waters of the Mediterranean are just over an hour's drive at the costal resort of Narbonne. Spain and Andora are also within easy driving distances. For those who require the comfort of 'Retail Therapy', Toulouse, Carcassonne and Narbonne have a wealth of excellent shops, cafes and restaurants. There is also some spectacular and interesting architecture. |
